Abstract

There are 350 species of birds in Libya, 100 of them are currently breeding (P. Isenmann, et al., 2016). Sixty-six species belonging to 12 orders have been observed on the coast near Tripoli from June 2023 to June 2024. Observations were made during weekends and in some evenings before sunset on the Zansour shore and in the predominantly one-story compound. All registered birds were photographed by Nikon Coolpix P900. The birds’ classification and Latin names, including subspecies, were adopted from the Clements’ Checklist of the Birds of the World (Clements et al., 2023). The list is recognized by authors of the International Ornithological Congress (IOC) World Bird List and the Checklist is complementary (Gill F. et al., 2024). Kyrgyz names are borrowed or are translations from Latin, English or Russian names (Систематический список…, 2010). The Russian names are adopted from Коблик Е. А. at al., (2006). Except for the name “Aтлантический пестрый буревестник,” borrowed from https://www.ebirds.ru/bird/8.htm.
