THE IMPORTANCE OF DENDROLOGY IN SOLVING PROBLEMS OF THE THEORY OF CATASTROPHISM

The article considers the possibility of using scientific research in the field of dendrology to solve some issues related to the theory of catastrophism. A brief description of modern views in the field of catastrophe theory is presented. The data of Soviet scientists-dendrologists on the state of stands on the territory of the Eurasian continent for the period of the second half of the twentieth century are presented. Conclusions are made about the exclusion of some hypotheses of the development of events of the catastrophic scenario in the past.
