Abstract

Intense urbanization is reducing the natural ecosystems that play an enormous ecological role on the planet year after year. To conserve ecosystems close to cultivated areas it is necessary to develop new approaches for joint mutually beneficial sustainable coexistence. Wild fruit-bearing plantations have a potential opportunity. In this article, by the example of sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) growing on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the possibility of a mutualistic (mutually beneficial) method of development of the region, through improved use of ecosystem services is analyzed. To solve this problem, a method of preserving coastal ecosystems by developing a strategy of "mutually beneficial cooperation" between the local population and natural ecosystems through obtaining maximum benefits from the available ecosystem services by developing and introducing technologies for obtaining a variety of ecoproducts in the region was proposed. It is necessary to popularize the Issyk-Kul region not only as a resort area, but also as an area with a developed production of a variety of eco-products derived from wild fruits. Involvement of the local population in the preservation of natural wealth capable of generating income and investment in the development of the processing industry of wild fruits in the region is key to the preservation of the unique nature of the region.
